Welcome to the United Dive Club! The dive club was started for United Airlines employees and there families to get together and enjoy scuba diving. The club organizes various dive trips and events throughout the year for the enjoyment of our members. There is no cost for membership in the dive club.
Why are we here and what do we do? Our purpose is to promote and provide diving to employees of United and an opportunity to learn to dive, find new dive buddies, share information, find discounts, and find great places to dive.
Do I need to be a certified diver to join? We do not require that you are certified to join. However, diving can be a hazardous sport and we do require all members who dive with us to be certified through a recognized agency. The club has our own "in-house" dive instructors that can teach you to scuba dive.

Recent Blast Mails:
Nov. 19, 2023
If you read the previous blast mail similar to this, please read this again. I have made adjustments and corrections.
Thanks to those of you that have responded to the blast mail. It was pointed out that I mistyped the date of the possible future Maldives trip in the top body of the blast mail.
The correct date period is Spring of 2025. ( a year and a half from now).
Our Philippines trip to Marco Vincent Dive Resort is this coming May 11-18, 2024. (which we still have a couple of spots open if you would like to go on this cool trip)
I'm still working on a trip for this summer, 2024, possible to the Bahamas, since it would be pretty easy to get to.
I’ve been concentrating om a Maldives trip for Spring of 2025. There are several live-a-board dive boats to choose from and one land based.
Most feedback has been to the land based Le Meriden, which I'm waiting on more specific information from.
A quick synopses of the Maldives possibilities…
Emperior Explorer (https://www.explorerventures.com/maldives-liveaboard-diving/) May 4-11, 2025 (7 nights)
(26 passengers)
Upper Deck Suite: $2916ppdb
Upper Deck Stateroom: $2747ppdb
Main Deck Suites: $2866ppdb
Lower Deck Stateroom: $2421-2569ppdb
Included: Nitrox; coffee/tea/water and basically everything else you would expect of a live-a-board included taxes/fees.
Not included: alcohol/non-alcohol drinks; gratuities
Guaranteed single room: add ½ of price to cost.*
Maldives Aggressor (https://www.aggressor.com/destination/Maldives) April 6-13, 2025 (7 nights)
(22 passengers)
Suite: $3468ppdb
Deluxe: $30838ppdb
Twin: $2703ppdb
Included: non-alcoholic beverages, local beer and wine and basically everything else you would expect of a live-a-board.
Not included: Nitrox; Port/park fees, fuel surcharge, taxes
Single supplement: add 65% of rate.*
I talked to Scuba Spa (https://scubaspa.com) (April 26-May 3, 2025 (7 nights)
(26 divers & 8 non divers)
The prices were for diver: approx. $2850-4100ppdb; non-diver about $3400ppdb
Not included: Nitrox; alcohol and non-alcohol drinks; x number of spa treatments.
Included: basically, everything else you would expect of a live-a-board.
Interesting concept for bringing a non-diver on a live-a-board. They do shore excursions, snorkeling, etc. activities for non-divers. It just seems to be a bit pricey.
There were a few land (island) based resorts, one being Le Meriden on Lhaviyani Atoll that I talked to.
(lhaviyani Atoll Hotel | Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa (marriott.com) Date could very but basically around end of Apr.-May, 2025
Would take a sea plane to get to the resort which I think is included in the cost*, but still checking on that. Obviously, there would not be a people number restriction for a land based resort.
$450 – 500 per person/night ($3100-3500 for the week)
Included: accommodation, basic meal plan and diving
Still working on more specifics.
So, the above is the workings for a Maldives trip for the Spring of 2025. Why the Maldives? That’s what a number of you e-mailed me to check on.
I’m still working on a Bahamas trip for summer 2024, to Nassau? Should know more soon. Would anyone be interested in this?
2 possibilities, a resort that excepts children (under 14) or a resort that does not except kids?
Anthony’s Key in Roatan (www.anthonyskey.com) really wants our club to visit them. What do you all think?
Let me know if any of the Maldives interest you and which one. Please only respond if you seriously would go on a Maldives trip. Let me know how many would be in your party. If we get enough interest, I’ll get serious with the choice and finish negotiating with them.
My dealings with the above assumes we are taking over the entire boat (except for the land based), so that’s what’s the negotiations are based on.
If we don't get enough members, we may have to go to a plan B.
