Possible future trip
A number of you showed an interest in the Club Med trip that was in my DEMA blast mail.
The following is what I'm looking at for a summer club trip...

June 6-13, 2026
CLUB MED      $2799-3679  all-inclusive, including flights on Bahamas Air MIA-San Salvador Island (ZSA)
Columbus Isle
San Salvador, Bahamas

Club Med Columbus Isle is widely regarded as an excellent, family-friendly resort with outstanding food and amenities. The diving in the outer Bahamas offers some of the best Caribbean experiences—healthy reefs, abundant marine life, and even sharks. I’m considering making this a summer dive trip, which would be ideal if family members want to join since the resort caters to both divers and non-divers alike.  One of the biggest advantages is the simplicity: just get to Miami, and everything else is taken care of.  My initial hesitation about choosing Club Med for a dive-focused trip was eased after speaking with the on-site dive operation. They provide services for all levels of divers, including advanced and technical divers, which is reassuring.  The package includes a 7-night all-inclusive stay with gourmet dining, 12 dives, entertainment, and round-trip flights from Miami.  Not included are the Club Med membership fee ($60 per adult, $30 for ages 16 and under) and dive equipment rental*.

The price variance is with the type of room you would want: See Below.

My impression is that the diving will be excellent. Columbus Isle sits far east in the Bahamas chain, in a relatively secluded area with few other visitors. The food and entertainment are consistently rated very highly, and the convenience of the included Miami to San Salvidor Isle (ZSA) flights makes logistics simple.  We recently visited Club Med in Turks & Caicos, and after speaking with several “Club Med regulars,” they strongly recommended the Bahamas location as one of the best.
If there’s enough interest in this trip, I’ll also explore whether additional diving perks can be included.

Let me know if you would go on this.
Answering yes to this does not commit you to this trip.  But it tells me you will go on it once I finalize everything if we get enough interest.
Please reply to this e-mail if you will go on this trip as soon as you can:  [email protected]

The other trips that were in the DEMA blast mail for future club trips are still being explored.

special update: Nov. 14, 2025

Hi all:
I’ve been attending the DEMA show for a couple of days and talked to many vendors/dive operators and resorts.
I’ve been looking for variety from around the world.  Below are what I found to be possibilities for us.

CLUB MED      $2799-3679  all-inclusive, including flights on Bahamas Air MIA-San Salvador Island Columbus Isle
San Salvador, Bahamas

This Club Med is known to be a very good resort that is family friendly.  And the food is very good.  The diving in the outer Bahamas is very good Caribbean diving.  Good reefs, and sharks.  My thoughts are to make this a summer dive trip so if you have family members that would like to go, this works great.  What I really like is all you have to do is get to Miami and the rest is taken care of.  My in trepidations of going to a Club med for a diving trip is waylaid by the assurance from the on-site dive operation.  They cater to all divers especially advanced and tec divers.  Included: 7 night all-inclusive package of room, gourmet dining, 12 dives, entertainment, round trip flights from Miami.  Not include, Club Med membership fee: $60.00 ($30.00 for age 16 and under), dive equipment can be rented.  For more information: Bahamas | Luxury all-inclusive Holidays Bahamas | Club Med

Anthony’s Key Resort | Dive, Snorkel, & Stay in Roatan, Honduras
St. Eustatius    $2205ppdbl-$3015 single (breakfast only);  add $995pp to make it all inclusive
Golden Rock Resort
Included: 7 night accommodations, 5 days of 2 tank boat diving, Nitrox, 3 island tours, mid-morning snack and soft drinks/coffee, transfers, resort access to facilities like pickleball/padel/mini golf/2 pools/tennis/volleyball/fitness center/yoga platform.  Not included: $30.00 marine park fee, scuba rental gear, 5% environmental fee.  To get to St. Eustatius, get to St. Maartin then take a short flight to St. Eustatius (EUX).  Or, fly to St. Kitts and ferry to St. Eustatius.  Golden Rock Dive and Luxury Nature Resort in St. Eustatius

Philippines (different area than our previous trips)
Amun Ini Beach Resort / Salaya Beach Houses    $3200 for 4 nights at each location
Bohol, Philippines      /  Negros Oriental, Philippines

This trip would consist of 4 nights in two different locations in an area south MNL getting to Bohol island by flight.  Transfer between resorts is included.  Also included: 4 nights accommodations at each resort, all meals, 16 dives, Nitrox, wifi, transfers.  This would be a different type of trip that could be pretty cool and fun.
Relaxing Amun Ini Beach Resort & Spa | Bohol   ;
Best Tropical Resort in Dumaguete - Salaya Beach Houses

Truk Lagoon   approx. $3800pp dbl (probably lower)
Odyssey Adventures live-a-board dive boat

Diving the wrecks of Truk Lagoon.  Included: airport transfers, 7 nights accommodations, 6 days of diving-up to 5 dives per day, Nitrox, all meals and drinks.  Not included: Chuuk dept tax of $30.00, equipment rental.  Should have at least an Advanced dive certificate and minimum 100 dives.  Dive Truk Lagoon with Odyssey Adventures

Note on selection of trips…I was looking for other faraway places, like Tahiti, etc, but they were not at the DEMA show.  I would also like to get Palau and Yap back into our rotation, possible for 2027.

All of the above are approximate prices.  The dates of travel for any of the above is not set.  I’m thinking of a summer of 2026 trip and anytime during 2027. For the summer of 2026, I think staying in the Caribbean/Atlantic would be nice.
What I would like from you is tell me what you think of any of the above.  Would you like to go on any of them.  BUT, please only answer if you WOULD go on the trip.  I’m trying to get a head count so I can further negotiate with them.
Person notes: I think a summer trip to Club Med in the Bahamas would be good to bring the family on.  They have wonderful accommodation, food and activities there (think flying trapeze to try) and the diving out in the eastern Bahamas is pretty good.  And best of all, we would only have to get to MIA and the rest is taken care of.
Cayman Brac and Roatan are also  good choices, anytime of the year, if not 2026 we can go in 2027.

Note on pricing:  The cost of diving has gone up.  Period.  I think the deals our club can get are pretty good.  Not free, but we’re trying to negotiate the best we can get.  It helps a lot if we can present a good participation of our members.  Power in numbers.

Again, e-mail me with what you think of any of the above and if you would go on them.  Please let me know quickly.  E-mail:
